Navya Mobility supports Brussels Airport in the deployment of an autonomous cargo tractor

Brussels Airport is currently testing an autonomous electric cargo tractor integrating Navya Mobility’s autonomous driving technology. Conducted with WFS Cargo and Charlatte Autonom, this pilot project aims to assess the potential of autonomous mobility to make cargo operations more efficient, safe and sustainable.

Deployed as part of the European Stargate program, the project is testing the vehicle on several predefined routes within Brussels Airport’s cargo area, including the transport of trailers between warehouses and various operational zones.

The AT135 combines a logistics platform developed by Charlatte Manutention with Navya Mobility’s autonomous driving system, brought together through the joint venture Charlatte Autonom, which specialises in autonomous solutions for industrial and airport environments.

The autonomous tractor combines GNSS navigation systems and LiDAR sensors, enabling it to perceive its surroundings and identify potential obstacles. Its autonomous driving software, developed by Navya Mobility, ensures that the vehicle stays on course and navigates safely in mixed-traffic environments with high levels of activity.

The vehicle bears the CE marking in accordance with the Machinery Directive, certifying compliance with the safety requirements applicable to its operation.

This project with Brussels Airport once again demonstrates the expertise of Charlatte Manutention and Navya Mobility indeploying autonomous mobility solutions in complex and demanding airportenvironments. Safety and reliability are at the core of our product design. Through this project, we are demonstrating our ability to deliver practical, safe and reliable autonomous solutions tailored to the realities of cargo operations.
